He would cock it up and somehow end up with a 10 year extension

Way Jerry works he may end up giving Jason a 5 yr contract.

Probably moving him into a cushy front office position.

And so ESPN has taken that tweet and twisted it into this: “Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and executive vice president Stephen Jones have decided that Jason Garrett will not be part of the organization moving forward, a source tells @WerderEdESPN.”

But that isn’t what Werder reported. While it indeed may be the final outcome, it’s not what he reported.

Just a thought I've been having on this.....Is Jerry worried he may not find a better option for HC? I really wonder how many quality HC candidates would go into that gong show in Dallas, especially if other options are available. The HC in Dallas is a "name only" position. Jones calls all the shots and that is never going to change.

Oh cut the drama, please make it STOP. Other teams do not do this type of nonsense when they fire their coaches or front office personell. This is beyond ridiculous.

You'll notice that during the trick none of Jurra's fingers will leave his hand!! What a way to "entice" a candidate!!

Re: Jerry Jones fires Garrett and entire coaching staff

Supposedly Jason won't leave, he's hiding behind his desk in a fetal position blubbering like a baby. Jerry reportedly is calling in a Exterminator and try and smoke him out.

Now the rumors are flying about Zimmer going to coach the Cowboys. Payton gotta be like, hey welcome to the club Mike :)

Today.
Now as I post. NFL network,Charlie Casserly is talking about it and the perils of working for Jerry.
Ten years was a long run for Garret being in that hot seat.

By the way, Jerry firing Garret is like saying water is wet.

OldMaid 01-05-2020 08:01 PM

Re: Jerry Jones fires Garrett and entire coaching staff

I wish Sean Payton would please give a straight up, straight out answer that he and his staff are not going to DCowboys.
:-(

Or is he, would he consider depending on how many zeros on an offer ?

The media is running with Sean P scenario back to DallasCowboys all night. It is going to be on all week, every , single day until JerryJones signs his next coaching victim.

Good. The Sean Payton and staff rumors are over. DCowboys has chosen MikeMcCarthy as hc.

So what happened to the Rooney rule?

Mike McCarthy first phone call ....

MIKE NOLAN is a leading candidate to run the defense.

I knew it was coming but I'd hate to lose him to Dallas. I'd much rather someone call for Dennis Allen.

Oh this would be terrible. I was dying to see what Nolan could do with the young guy Kaden Elliss.

I agree K. Me and you have talked many times before about Dennis Allen and our displeasure of him from pregame planning to playing soft or play calling in general and not having the guys in the right spot to make a play among other things. I would rather they promote Nolan to DC let Allen walk and have Payton let Nolan and Ireland have total control of the defense from drafting to free agency. Those guys know defensive talent.

Never agreed with that rule. You've got a billion dollar franchise with multi-million dollar contract players and you've got to fake the motions with a man when you know who you want to coach your team?

Can you imagine if we applied that rule across the board to the rosters as well?

Just remember, the Rooney rule is there to address a problem that no longer exists! (if it ever did)

21st century. At the start of the 2014 season, NFL surveys revealed that the league was approximately 68% African-American and about 28% white, with the remaining 4% comprising Asian/Pacific Islander, non-white Hispanics, and those preferring a Mixed Race category.
