Iconic team name changes on the rise

Wow what a change of history. I know for years that the Washington Redskins name has been in dispute for many years. The Cleveland Indians removed their famous logo last year, now looking to remove their name. What about the Atlanta Braves, will they change their name? And just this morning, I heard that the KC CHIEFS name is also a possible name change.
I don't mind the name changes for the Redskins and chiefs, but keep the team colors as is.

Re: Iconic team name changes on the rise

I can kinda see the issue with the Redskins name. Though, from what I understand they have been in contact with native American tribes over the years and the majority do not find it offensive.

I don't see why the Chiefs should have to change their name, or why they would even want to. A Chief was/is a leader. And it's not even an exclusively native American term. So much of the current bs makes no sense to me. You hear a lot about the need for representation from a lot of different groups, yet in the same breath they demand that any words, names or visual representations of minorities or "protected groups" be removed. In what way does that help? I don't get it.

I can’t tell another ethic group what not to be offended by. If redskins is a slur than I’m all for them changing the name. The Washington Redtails is actually a really good idea even though it’s more pandering by the NFL. I think they could get really creative with the logo and uniforms under that name. Who can’t respect what the red tails were able to accomplish? As far as the Chiefs, I hope they get to keep their name and likeness. It’s one of my favorites.

Re: Iconic team name changes on the rise

It is all ridiculous.
So therefore change the names , logos of many teams, cities, states, streets , universities, etc.
