Saints are Actively Trying to Trade Michael Thomas
I'm sure you all have heard this one before, but I have a legit Saints insider at high level in the organization. He is not always right, but about 80% of the time.
The tension with MT continued to grow ever since the Brees incident in the offseason. MT has become a disruptive influence in the locker room. A month ago, the Saints put feelers out to see if they could trade MT. I was told this was mainly for the Saints to let Thomas know he was creating problems, needed to be more professional and the Saints were very serious. Thomas has continued the behavior. As of yesterday, the Saints put MT on the trade block with every intention to trade him. I was also told, "Don't be surprised if he never suits-up in Black and Gold again unless he does a complete turnaround in attitude." MT could have played last week and definitely this week. There is no injury serious enough to keep him from playing. Coach Payton is keeping him on the bench. Whether he actually does play some this year for the Saints is doubtful, but if he does, and doesn't change his attitude, he definitely will not be playing for the Saints next year. |

This isn't a post for sensationalism. We sporadically get legit insider info. It hit me after I posted this that the source never asked for confidentiality. He basically gave us the go-ahead to spread this.
I've experienced this source using us to spread info they wanted spread not through Saints official channels. I get the feeling that is what's happening with this. |

Just to play along, what do you ask for in a trade for Thomas? Granted, he has a huge contract, but the man's production is beyond question.

Stickman - that's a great question. Isn't there like a week left for trades or less? Teams know we are dumping him. Normally, I'd guess a #1 and #2 for one of the top 2 WRs in the league. In a fire sale, I hate to even think what we would actually be offered. And your post made me think. What is we don't get any respectable offer? What will they do with Thomas for the remainder of the season? idk. Anybody else have any ideas?

Also, rumors are a lot of this started with him criticizing Brees in the off season. What if Brees isn't back next year? Does his attitude improve? |

What we heard is that Mike is an extremely emotional guy. That's one of the factors that make him so great, his competitiveness. Could the Saints just stash him till the year is over? What example would that set for the locker room? Personally, I don't want to lose MT. |

Stashing the defending NFC Offensive Player of the Year until the season is over makes as much sense as benching Kamara to save him for next season. ![]() |

There is zero possibility of trading Thomas and there is no logical reason to do so. These ridiculous trade supposition articles are published at this time every year with outlandish trade possibilities. It still shocks me that people believe this crap is "actual news". ![]() |
