Hi from Australia
G,day all,
Thought I'd post this on here and not on the main forum so not to embarrass myself too much with my lack of American football knowledge ![]() Anyway popped in to say hi. I am a big Saints fan even though i dont know too much about your great game (do know the basics after watching for years but obviously the tactics and plays are a bit beyond me - just learnt what "in the shotgun" meant the other day). There are quite a few N.O. Saints fans in Australia, many like me who are keen passionate supporters of an Australian Football team known as St.Kilda (also the Saints). its currently our off season (coming into summer) and our summer sports are coming about (mainly cricket) Unfortunately both our teams share some things in common, namely our total lack of success over the years. Our team has been around since 1897 and we have managed to win only one flag (or championship) and that was 40 years ago. One thing opposition fans have adopted from your game is that we have also been nicknamed the Aints. ![]() We get to see the games here on cable TV. Unfortunately i haven't seen too many Saints games except for the first game back at home. Big news in Aust as we all know what happened with Katrina and what the football team means to the city. Anyway great to see the team 7-1 (i think) and heres hoping for a berth in the play offs. I'll get some other ignorant Australians to jump on board here and you guys can guide us through. We may even be able to convert some of you to Aussie Rules ![]() ![]() Cheers, GO SAINTS |
