Orleans DA's office still in trouble

John Thompson had been awarded a $14 million judgment against the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office, but that award was set aside by the U.S. Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision last month.
Thompson had sued in 2007, saying that the DA's office railroaded him onto death row. Then-District Attorney Eddie Jordan defended the civil case in federal court, but the prosecutorial misconduct occurred under the administration of longtime Orleans Parish DA Harry Connick.
Thompson spent 18 years in prison, 14 of them on death row.
Thompson's opinion piece is headlined "The Prosecution Rests, but I Can't."
