this is a discussion within the NOLA Community Forum; I'm not into politics but why can't we do something like invest in fiber optics and grid the whole country in like 10 years. Jobs, jobs, people buying homes again, creating small businesses, getting people off of welfare, companies manufacturing ...

I'm not into politics but why can't we do something like invest in fiber optics and grid the whole country in like 10 years. Jobs, jobs, people buying homes again, creating small businesses, getting people off of welfare, companies manufacturing parts/materials. And we would have bragging rights of the fastest most reliable iternet on the planet.

I agree. Our infrastructure gets a "D" and we don't seem to have any intention to make it better. Building roads and running wire are jobs and that's what we need most.
