David Liebe Hart's low-budget, pharmacy-funded Los Angeles public access program The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Program unveiled the puppeteer's world of God-fearing aliens, anti-drug and anti-porn messages, Christian Science teachings and outsider artists when it debuted in the late '80s. By the time it went off air in the mid-'90s, it had a large cult following, with devotees to starring puppets like Chip the Black Boy and Doug the Dog, off-key comedians like James Quall, and Liebe Hart's alien philosophy shared with him, he says, from the Korendian and Omegan races.?
