Hit and run car sought in fatal crash that shut down I-10 for hours
NEW ORLEANS – Witnesses described a horrific scene on I-10 as a car impaled itself on a light pole on I-10 after police say it was hit by another car and sent flying over the guardrail and burst into flames.
The driver of the Nissan Altima died in the flames as onlookers who wanted to help were repelled by the flames. Traffic was shut down on the busy stretch of the interstate for nearly three hours as fire and emergency crews tended to the scene. Police are on the lookout for a black Nissan Altima or Maxima with a Fleur de Lis on the back and damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
