Press release: Sheriff announces furlough plan for 25 percent of OPSO workforce
The Lens' Tom Gogola reported earlier this week that the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office (OPSO) has lowered available overtime hours for deputies beginning earlier this month. The cuts, Gusman told the Lens, came in part after closure of the House of Detention and the removal of most state and all federal inmates from Orleans Parish Prison resulted in decreased per diem revenues for OPSO, Sheriff Marlin Gusman told the Lens.?
