I love the \"freedom of speech\" argument. Hey, buddy, what happens on this site is up to the descretion of the owners. You have the freedom to either post and suffer the consequences or walk away. They have the right, as owners, to edit ignorance on their site. It\'s just that easy. Like if you were to walk up into my business and start spouting off about the Falcons. Yeah, you have the right to speech, but don\'t question why I kick your ass to the curb afterwards.

There\'s a slight difference in the argument made here and the argument you\'re referring to.

The argument here is that a person should have the right to say whatever he wants on this board. The defense is easy - this is privately owned and operated, and the content can be controlled by the moderators empowered by the owners.

The argument you refer to was more along the lines of, I\'m a moderator and thus free to make comments about you (and other people). If you don\'t like it, leave.

In the second case, the individual moderator is breaching the generally accepted rules of the board promulgated by the owners and moderators in unison. He is in essence operating with imunity b/c of his title where other \'normal\' members are held to a higher standard. Ultimately, the owner can allow whatever he wants. Still, there\'s a difference b/w banning certain content outright to support the purpose of the site, and allowing one moderator to operate with imunity in ways that violate the spirit of the rules.

Does that clear things up for you?

Not at all. What seems to have your panties in a wad is that I think you have an agenda. I have thought that (and stated that) for nearly three years...and WELL before I became a Moderator. You and Gator use the Moderator argument as a means to an end -- but it\'s failed miserably, and, based on YOUR recent comments as a \"Moderator\" (among one\'s made prior to that time) I suspect it will continue to fail mostly because you and Gator have done as much and likely more of what you accuse me of than nearly anyone else here. I don\'t call you names or attack you in the same manner that you and those you support attack me. I have the right to say you have an agenda...period. Once again you miss the WHOLE point while you try and focus on ME.

Again, your buddies (and you) are every bit as guilty (and in some cases even more so) of everything you have accused me of and yet you fail to mention them...to you this is all about me. Looks like you\'ll just have to get on over it I guess.

This is Gator\'s little band wagon that he slowed down long enough for you to jump on. You accuse me of \"personal attacks\" right? Lets see...in the last week you have accused me of being \"Brooks\' Lover\" and have called me \"Casper\" on numerous occasions. Is this what you consider to be acceptable behavior from a MODERATOR?

Now, in the same time frame have I called you any names? No. Have I said one word about you being anyone\'s \"lover\"? No. Have I accused you of having an agenda? You BETCHA! I\'m I allowed to do that, moderator or not? Uh Huh. Is name calling against the rules. Why, yes sir it is.

I accuse you of having at least ONE agenda, but likely more than that lately. See, it\'s not just my comments where YOU are concerned, but it\'s my comments where 08, Gator, and others are concerned. In the last month you have, all of a sudden, become the protector of what you, on one hand, call fair play, and, on the other hand, do yourself.

Not at all. In fact, I told you I was going to do it before I did it. I argued with you and tried to make your actions clear to you. You denied it. So I told you that I would act towards you the same way that you act towards Gator, 08, and myself. I\'m not trying to sanction you, I\'m trying to hold you to the same standard everyone else is held to. You didn\'t want to do that, so I treat you the same way you treat a few of us. You\'re right that my comments are directed at you. You\'re right that they\'re attacks - how do you like it?

In any case, say whatever you want. I\'m just not going to let your TRANSPARENT arguments and uneducated or uninformed attacks go unchecked. Happy posting.
