1970 Jazz Fest movies to screen Thursday at Old U.S. Mint
The Louisiana State Museum and Friends of the Cabildo will present two screenings of seven short films shot at the 1970 Jazz Fest on Thursday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Old U.S. Mint, 400 Esplanade Avenue. Shot by Don Perry, one of the founders of the New Orleans Jazz Club and a former WDSU cameraman, the films feature artists including Duke Ellington, Pete Fountain, Danny Barker, and Mahalia Jackson.?
