Sarah Palin endorses Maness in Louisiana Senate race



Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Rob Maness, who is challenging Sen. Mary Landrieu and Rep. Bill Cassidy in the November race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Landrieu, has received the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

In a statement announcing the endorsement, Maness said,*"I am truly humbled Governor Palin would lend her credibility to a regular guy like me. We are winning this campaign the old-fashioned way ? by putting people over politics. I've logged 50,000 miles in my Ford F-150 and visited all 64 of Louisana's great parishes ? this endorsement is just the energy we need to keep trucking!"

Maness, along with a fourth candidate, State Rep. Paul Hollis, R-Covington, continues to poll in the single digits in the race, but has worked a spirited campaign firing shots at both Landrieu and Cassidy.

Since stepping down from her governorship mid-term in 2009, Palin has been a popular TV news personality, speaker at conservative conventions and reality TV show host.? [ Read more ]
