Each year Esquire compiles a shortlist of The Best Bars in America ("those exceptional, harmonious, radiant, and occasionally unruly places to have a drink"), and each year New Orleans is represented ? just not always by the same places.

This year's installment, by cocktailian David*Wondrich, includes*Broussard's*(recommended drink: Sazerac; recommended "crusty" server: Paul Gustings) and Erin Rose ("a late-night favorite with bartenders and their ilk ... cheap and lively, even rowdy").
