Prolific New Orleans rapper Lyrikill ? aka Chuck Jones, the Delhi, Louisiana native who has helped galvanize New Orleans' independent hip-hop community with popular events like Soundclash ? released his latest EP, The Nostalgia, this month.

The EP ? hosted by producer Statik Selektah and produced by GPNYC's Prospek ? also features spots from*City Sparks, Elespee, JusKwan, Impulss, Jon Mercure, Suave and others.*Lyrikill's vintage R&B samples are pumped up with aggressive snare pops (on "Unsolicited") or allowed to groove along the MC's direct, low-key flow (on "To the Sky"). Lyrikill attacks the title track himself, with a bluesy, minor-key dirge keeping afloat his lines, admitting*"all I got is this MPC with a few beats, a condenser microphone and some loose-leaf sheets, hoping something spiritual will speak through me, and pull me off that water before I sink too deep."
