Premiere: stream two songs from The Kid Carsons' self-titled new album


Inspired by songwriters from Gram Parsons to Townes Van Zandt, as well as the songbooks of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen and days spent picking on porches and on the Calcasieu River in their hometown of Lake Charles, brother-sister duo Chad and Morgan Carson established The Kid Carsons as a playground for their ideas, ambitions, failures and transformations. Following the band's stripped-down 2012 EP Settle Down, the duo ? along with*David Hart, Derek Duplessie and David Shirley ? will release the lush self-titled album with a release party at Gasa Gasa (4920 Freret St.) on Friday, March 6, where they'll debut the band's latest material and preview its next chapter with Nashville songwriter W.B. Givens.
