Japan Society hosts free film screening tonight at Cafe Istanbul
The Japan Society of New Orleans continues its NOLA Japanese Cinema Series tonight, Monday, March 16, with a free screening of Hayao Miyazaki's classic animated film My Neighbor Totoro at Cafe Istanbul, 2372 St. Claude Ave. The New York Times described Miyazaki as "the world's greatest living animated-filmmaker ? a designation that his fans at Disney and Pixar would be unlikely to challenge." The story of two young girls who find a forest filled with magical creatures, My Neighbor Totoro won Japan's Mainichi Award for best film of 1988.?
