Listen: Mike Dillon covers Elliott Smith's "Half Right"
Earlier this year, percussionist and vibraphonist Mike Dillon performed a tribute to singer-songwriter Elliott Smith and tiki lounge man Martin Denny, a one-night only, seemingly undo-able midnight show at Preservation Hall. The unpredictable jazz master is working on a Smith tribute album, Functioning Broke, due out early next year. He's on tour through 2015 and January 2016 ? he'll perform at Tipitina's on Friday, Nov. 20 with The Revivalists, and at the Contemporary Arts Center on Saturday, Dec. 12.? |
