Whoopi Goldberg to play Saenger Theater June 25

Comedian and actor Whoopi Goldberg will play the Saenger Theater June 25, the theater announced this morning.

Goldberg won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ghost and now co-hosts the talk show The View. Goldberg also is a past monarch of the Krewe of Orpheus.*The Saenger engagement is described as "an evening of Whoopi?s unique observations on current events and a wide variety of topics on her mind."

Tickets go on sale Friday at the Saenger Theatre box office (1111 Canal St.) and at Ticketmaster,*or call 800-745-3000.*
