Essence Fest unveils plans for a tribute to Prince
 Members of Prince's band The New Power Generation will join a tribute to the late artist to close out the 2016 Essence Festival on Sunday, July 3.*Sly and the Family Stone bassist Larry Graham also joins the tribute, along with Marsha Ambrosius, Kelly Price, D-Nice and Doug E. Fresh and New Orleans artists*Luke James and the Stooges Brass Band and players from The Roots of Music. A second line in Prince's honor will follow the performance. Prince was one of the festival's most famous fans, and his 2004 and 2014 headlining performances were among the festival's best.? |
