Listen to Trombone Shorty's "Dirty Water" from his April release Parking Lot Symphony

On the first original song teasing his upcoming release for Blue Note Records, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews hits some falsetto notes over*bluesy piano riffs and sharp guitar slaps. "Dirty Water" ? the second single from April's Parking Lot Symphony, his first on the venerable jazz label ? slowly simmers before a horn-filled ending.*?It's a life record about prevailing no matter what type of roadblock is in front of you," Shorty said of the song.

Parking Lot Symphony'
's first single was his faithful cover of Ernie K-Doe's "Here Come the Girls" (which apparently has been remixed as "Here Come the Boys" for the opening week of Major League Baseball promotions).*The album is out April 28, the day before his annual*Treme Threauxdown at the Saenger Theatre.?
