'Songs of My People: 25 Years' opens at Dillard University Dec. 9 as part of PhotoNOLA
The 12th annual PhotoNOLA photography exhibition kicks off this weekend at galleries, museums and alternative spaces around the city, and*?Songs of My People: 25 Years" ? a collection of works by African-American photographers and visual journalists ? opens*at the Dillard University Art Gallery Dec. 9. The curator is Imani Cheers, an assistant professor of media at George Washington University, and the daughter of photographer D. Michael Cheers, whose work was included in a 1992 exhibit, ?Songs of My People," which featured 50 black photographers. ? |
