Sunday at Jazz Fest: Charlie Wilson, Irma Thomas, Quiana Lynell and others
Charlie Wilson and four dancers in brightly colored short dresses chugged onto Jazz Fest's Congo Square Stage to the tune of the Gap Band's "Party Train" and set the tone for a energetic show highlighted by hits off his latest album and a mix of funk, R&B, hip-hop and soul. Wilson continued with "Good Time" and "There Goes My Baby," and he asked men in the crowd to sing to their dates, which didn't draw the loudest response of the day.? |
