Nungesser?s weeklong multi-parish tour celebrating Louisiana tourism will skip New Orleans
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser's office today announced a "tourism tour" the lieutenant governor will be taking next week, "celebrating the impact tourism has on Louisiana and the state?s economy as part of the 35th annual National Travel and Tourism Week" and "the just under $18 billion in dollars spent by domestic and international tourists." Thirteen of the state parishes will be on the tour, including St. Tammany and Jefferson parishes ? but not Orleans Parish, which accounted for an outsized $7.41 billion of the state's tourism income last year, according to a 2016 visitor profile study*(which is compiled annually by the University of New Orleans Hospitality Research Center).? |
