Letters to Louisiana Medicaid recipients warn budget cuts could threaten programs
 The Louisiana Department of Health will begin mailing notices*this week to 37,000 people enrolled in Medicaid to warn that some of their health care coverage could end July 1 due to proposed budget cuts. The proposed state budget approved by the House could axe four programs covering nursing care patients, people with developmental disabilities and patients receiving at-home care ? pending action from Senate lawmakers or Gov. John Bel Edwards and warning letters from the federal government to patients within at least 10 days in advance of those cuts. ? |
