Xavier University's 11th annual Plessy Day is June 7
 Xavier University's 11th annual Homer Plessy Day will focus on the 150th anniversary of the 1868 Constitutional convention and the state of the union in the early years of Reconstruction following the Civil War, during which New Orleanians of African and Creole heritage fought for full citizenship.The event, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the university ballroom, features a keynote from Robin White of the National Park Service and a panel discussion, "150 Years: Still Separate and Unequal." The event is free and open to the public with RSVP.? |
