Cripple Creek cancels July production, begins 'exile' after final performances

After more than a decade of theater, New Orleans-based Cripple Creek Theatre Company planned to produce just two more shows before it disbanded ? this month's Sueño and July's The Visit.

But the company announced today that this weekend's run of Sueño will be its last.

"The reason is simple, painful and ever-present to the fine theatre artists of this city: lack of funds," the company said in a statement.

The company says thinner-than-anticipated ticket sales for Sueño weren't sufficient to*support the company's production of The Visit, which was scheduled for a July run at AllWays Lounge.?
