Butler spent offseason taking shots
Posted by John Reid, Times Picayune
October 01, 2007 Despite Coach Byron Scott's warning, backup Rasual Butler did not run a lot this offseason to prepare for training camp, which begins Tuesday at the Alario Center. Instead, Butler said he concentrated on improving his shooting. Butler closed out last season, hitting 9-of-36 3-pointers in the final five games. In 81 games, Butler averaged 10.1 points. "I'm in shape, I didn't do a lot of running because I know I'm going to get enough of that here,'' Butler said. "I was more concerned on making sure that my shot would be ready.'' Butler is projected to come off the bench to provide help at both small forward and shooting guard. Scott warned his players about a month ago that training camp was going to be difficult, with more conditioning drills than he conducted last year. Scott wants his players to push the tempo more offensively. Butler spent offseason taking shots - Hornets Beat - Times-Picayune - NOLA.com |
