Re: What should the New Orleans Hornets do with Chris Paul?
The Hornets would be a formidable team indeed with a top-flight center and a small forward -- and no Chris Paul. They proved that when CP was injured last season. Marcus Thorton was excellent in his absence. If not for spotty play at center and small forward, the Hornets would have been in the playoff hunt. I say trade Chris Paul and throw in Peja Stojakovic.
The Hornets are making moves from top to bottom to improve the team and Chris Paul is too impatient to wait for better days. It seems that Paul has gotten infected with the self-congratulatory virus that has poisoned the attitudes of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Problem is, Chris Paul is no LeBron James or Kobe Bryant. But the fact that he thinks he is makes him a toxic element, a prima donna who will destroy the spirits of teammates and anyone who attempts to coach him. The Hornets can build an excellent team without Paul and Peja. I say take the money and run. |
