Here's a nola.com blog on a Hornet namechange that was posted on the board before Benson bought the team ... in the comments are suggestions for calling the team the "Krewe" or "Brass" ... I thought those were in keeping with NO tradition ... anything but 'Hornets'.

I am a HUGE Utah Jazz fan (I live in Utah) and I think we should give the name back to New Orleans. Utah has no business using the name Jazz. It is like Metallica calling themselves Taylor Swift.

It's not the name. I do think it would help, but that is a very marginal issue which I honestly believe had to do more with Rita's input. Will it help the Hornets get elite players? No. Will they win more game? Nope. We already had the Jazz and it went belly up. Call it NBA team #37, or whatever, I could care less, just go get us some stars.

I just want Benson to start airing the games on a local station I get... I don't get CST...

I like Krewe :) I also like Vodoo like that arena football team benson had at one time. I also like "New Orleans Hot Sauce" .. If Crystal or Tabasco didnt set up to the plate to sponsor them after that.. well :)

I really like this one I think it would stick. The New Orleans "Brees" Actually spelled Breeze but we know whats up with that!!!!!!
