Anthony Davis Injury: Updates on Pelicans Star's Ankle and Return
New Orleans Pelicans star forward Anthony Davis injured his left ankle in Friday's game against the Utah Jazz. According to the Pelicans' official Twitter feed, he will not return:
There is no word on the severity of the injury, or if he will have to miss additional time beyond this game. Davis has missed nine games this year with a fracture in his left hand and a sprained left shoulder, according to ESPN.com. In his rookie season, he only played in 62 games due to myriad injuries. The 21-year-old is in the midst of a fantastic season, averaging 21.7 points, nearly three blocks and 10.5 rebounds per game. He's also shooting an impressive 52 percent from the floor. He is the Pelicans' leading scorer. If he ends up being out for an extended period of time, it would be a devastating blow to the Pelicans, who are already missing Ryan Anderson, according to Ben Golliver of SI.com.
