Re: Predicting Roles and Impact of Each New Orleans Pelicans Newcomer This Season
Russ Smith is a huge upgrade from Austin Rivers at backup PG. I like Rivers but as a 2 not a 1. Smith is a true PG and a proven winner. Jimmer Fredette will find a lot of open space due to defenses collapsing on the Pelicans dominant front court, and we know he can knock down open threes. Patric Young is a huge upgrade over Stiemsma and will help protect the rim and rebound. Of course a healthy Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon are all exceptional talents each capable of scoring 30 on any given night. And let's not forget Anthony Davis, Team USAs leading scorer, rebounder, team MVP and top 3-5 player in the league. Plus he's 21 yrs old and a natural leader. Believe it or not this is a LOADED Pelicans roster which could potentially win an NBA title this year. Go ahead and doubt. I believe and can't wait to say I told you so.
