Anthony Davis Injury: Updates on Pelicans Star's Toe and Return
New Orleans Pelicans star forward Anthony Davis will miss Friday night's game versus the Philadelphia 76ers while dealing with a toe injury.
John Reid of NOLA.com reported Davis' status for Friday: Reid also provided some background on the injury: "It’s pretty sore, but I’m going to keep getting treatment to see how it feels leading up to the game," Davis said.Davis has been nothing short of spectacular this season, as ESPN.com indicates that he's leading the league in player efficiency rating. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is matched by only a select few players around the NBA. Even more amazing is the fact that he's doing this despite being just 21 years old. He's previously dealt with relatively minor wrist and chest issues. Neither of those caused him to miss any significant game action or practice time. The Pelicans hope the latest injury falls into the same category or it would obviously be a major setback. While New Orleans awaits further word about Davis' status, Ryan Anderson figures to see a notable uptick in usage. Alexis Ajinca and Dante Cunningham will also see some additional minutes if the rising star misses time. Further updates on Davis will be passed along as they become available.
