Continue for updates. Pelicans Need to Replace Dejean-Jones in Starting Lineup Thursday, Feb. 25 On Thursday, New Orleans announced the injury will require Dejean-Jones to have surgery Friday morning, and a timetable for his return will follow. The rookie out of Iowa State has played in just 14 games this season, starting 11 and averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. Prior to joining the team, Dejean-Jones spent time with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League.
