DeMarcus Cousins Says He 'Never Heard' of Lonzo Ball, Talks NBA MVP Race

New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins claimed he had never heard of Lonzo Ball when talking about NBA draft prospects during an interview with TMZ Sports.

Cousins appeared to be joking and throwing a bit of shade in good fun, however, after stating that De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Bam Adebayo were the best players in this year's draft, all prospects from his alma mater, Kentucky.

He also said of Ball's father, LaVar Ball, "His dad is legend."

You can see the interview below:

Cousins, 26, was also asked about Russell Westbrook's amazing year after the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar joined Oscar Robertson as the only other player in NBA history to average a triple-double and set the record for triple-doubles in a season with 42 on Sunday night.

"He's having an unbelieveable season, MVP candidate," Cousins noted. "He's having a historical season, so we're gonna see what happens. He's definitely deserving of the MVP trophy, but we'll see what happens."

Cousins added that James Harden also would be deserving of the award, however, and avoided declaring who he would select for MVP.
