That's a great question. I thought it was based on what round they were drafted in, along with however the NFL determines value.

Only the Saints could have 2 3rd round comp picks yet still be leaving the draft with only 5 players.

Whats the chances Payton getting itchy fingers and trades both comp picks to move up 10 spots and draft someone. Can see lots of UDFA being brought in and the best ones wanting to come with so many roster spots open and so few rookies drafted

Since the team has been well built we could afford to draft fewer prospects and Payton moved up to get his man he has a vision for. This could be the year we trade back to acquire more picks and give Jeff Ireland more ammo.
