Trust your eyes Buds.

I think it's a bit short sighted if you don't think Jameis has a strong arm. My point here is that you need a QB who can stretch the field. Brees can no longer do that & Emmanuel S/Deonte/3quan have been limited because of it. My illustration had nothing to do with Tampa's broken down coverage on that play.

Why do you think Sean rotated Taysom in on passing plays throughout the course of the season? Again, my point of emphasis here is that you must be able to stretch the field to keep defenses honest.

Bowles game plan was a lot less complicated knowing his free safety didn't have to stay back deep.

And no, you couldn't have made that throw :p

KC now is what we would have looked like if Payton bothered to get Brees a D in his prime.

Brees arm is done, our playoff exits look so familiar because all those playoff teams know the blueprint.

Clog the middle of the field and take away Brees' checkdowns, when that happens he can't exploit one on one coverage deep like he used to, because he doesn't have the arm to get it there anymore.

Hash mark to hash mark, it was roughly 40 yards in the air, give or take a few feet in either direction. Winston was on the 34 when he let the ball loose, Smith was on the 27, maybe 26 when he hauled it in and completed the pass.

Regardless of which defender went which way, it was nice to see a Saints QB let loose on a pass, without hesitation or second guessing into a check down. Just let your receiver run under your pass. It is definitely missing in this offense. Personally, I don’t care who is under center, I just want to see more passes like that. A lot more.

Let's not forget it is all scripted and the story was written for TB12 to play in the Superbowl this year. Also the only year the NFL and host city would WANT the home team to play in the Superbowl, because of the restrictions due to Covid. Otherwise, think of all the tourist revenue they would miss in Tampa for the week.

Could taysom have played. He wasn’t walking with a limp what I saw. Or was the game a swan song for Drew with no outside help at QB. Did it backfire on Payton thinking Drew Brees alone could get pass the bucs a third time. ? Just throwing crap out there like u hear out there.

We had all the pieces we needed to have success in spite of any drop off in Drew’s play. When Taysom and Murray went down those pieces went away. They built this team with Brees decline in mind and the offense was tailor made to succeed in spite of that. With Taysom and Murray in the game to take some of that pressure off Brees we would have stomped Tampa. I blame injury for our post season problems as of late more so than I do the players and coaching.

That was my first reaction , it was only half our winning offense. In place, we got half the score we should have.

To be quite honest I think there was no doubt Jameis was going deep be damned if it looked good or not, lol

Difference is GB didn't have their QB try to hide an injury for a year.

You think Drew hid his injuries from the team?

Never said Winston didn't have a strong arm. Of course he does but Tampa is in the superbowl with the same team he had in 2019 that he could only get to 7-9. Just because you can throw the ball 60 yards doesn't mean victory. Lot's of those throws become 3rd down punts as ints. I don't believe he is our answer. Great route running can do the same as stretching the field. Thomas is our best route runner but his ankle had him limited and he couldn't get off the press at the line. Harris has the potential to be our poor man's Tyreek Hill if he can stay healthy. Brees is probably done but I would be alright if he came back for another year even if it's just for salary cap purposes. The past 15 years we have only had 5 QB's start a game for the Saints. 3 due to injury and 1 due to resting starters for our superbowl run and Brees. The 15 years before that we had 17 different QB's. Us older fans remember the instability and terrible play at QB and it's difficult to just say Brees is done because he can't throw 50 yards. Plenty of folks here are spoiled with our recent success and don't remember when the only games on TV were the road games because 55,000 fans weren't enough to lift local blackouts. I'm prepared to see us struggle until we find a suitable replacement. I was a fan with Archie and when we were playing the 3 different Bobby's, the 2 Wilson's the 2 Billy Joes and a host of others. I'll still be here when we figure out who our next one will be. I just don't believe it is Winston. I hope he can prove me wrong. And Major, whenever you want to drink on it, I'll throw you a few passes.
