28. New Orleans Saints: Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB, Syracuse
The Saints have let go of several players this offseason, including cornerback Janoris Jenkins. With their first-round selection, the sim has New Orleans taking his replacement in Ifeatu Melifonwu. A rare physical specimen with salivating movement skills, pairing him with Marcus Lattimore could be fearsome. Not bad... Can Mac Jones slip to round 2 or 3? What QBs are coming out next year worth a chit? | |

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
So I’m assuming the first three picks go:
1. Jags- QB Trevor Lawrence 2. Jets- QB Zach Wilson 3. 49ers- QB Justin Fields The Failclowns are sitting there at 4 with their choice of any non-QB in the draft. Just imagine if they took Kyle Pitts. |

They're going Penei Sewell at that point and giving Ryan a full 0.5 sec more per play; if they don't trade back some and grab a CB1...

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
Okay, this was on Draft Network Mock with no trades...
Rounds One and Two couldn't have been better, securing immediate starters for CB2 and WLB (Demario to the Mike)... Tylan Wallace nearly fell to me in round 3, taken five picks earlier; an immediately plug 'n play WRz... But was thrilled to find Hunter Long just sitting there - a huge get; makes those TE-jumbo packages exciting... Tyler Shelving is terrific value for a dominating NT1; massive, young, athletic NT for the next four years on a rookie contract... Jaelan Darden would provide depth behind Deonte Harris; could see lining them up on opposite sides of the field for WR-Double-Bubble-Option packages - had to do it... Josh Ball could be ready in a season at RT - perfect project for Zach Strief to mentor, unload Terron Armstead's contract, unavailability issues... Tyler Coyle would be a steal at SS; makes Jenkins expendable by mid-season... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2021 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
I took a 3 round spin on it and here’s what I did...
28. CB Eric Stokes (Georgia) 60. LB Jabril Cox (LSU) 98. DT Jay Tufele (USC) 105. DE Patrick Jones II (Pitt) I’m still not sold on Stokes being a first round talent but I’m not a know-it-all. |
