Brees stats last 4 years in playoffs

U want to talk regressing under Drew
2017 - - car - 31 pts
2017 - - minn- 24 pts
2018 - - philly- 20 pts
2018- - Rams - 23pts
2019 - - minn -20 pts
2020 - - bears - 21 pts
2020 - - bucs. - 20 pts
How could we get to another Super Bowl is only one way move on from Brees; it hurts but take it for what it is.

After that Philadelphia game in 2018 was when the writing was on the wall for him. It was like a roller coaster that was at the top then the quick descend, then the injuries started. Still love and have the upmost respect for Drew but we gotta move on

I think that’s when he got an injury of some kind that has lingered or is easily aggravated. Our offensive line was pretty beat up too by the end of the last few seasons. He played well enough to win it all each of those years with the exception of Tampa. One of those years was straight up stolen from us. If the Minnesota Miracle had not happened we would have lost to Philly. Nobody was going to beat Philly that year. What happened in the Rams game is inexcusable.

We woulda beat Philly, we were rollin. I still can't fully process what happened in 17 & 18 respectively...not sure I ever will.

Agree, think they would have blown Philly out the water. Same in 2011, get past the 49ers and no way they don't smash the Giants in the dome and that 2011 team had to much offense for the Pats to go toe to toe with

If only one player scored points. If only one teams points determined a win..

No one player get credit for the score and no one player gets blame for the lack of....

Some people are reaching really hard to make a point. Really hard.

But look, I’ll play long. Tom Brady scored 13 on the Rams to be a them in SB LIII, Drew’s scores beat Brady’s scores so we should have the LIII SB trophy. :chug:

Your missing the point, it’s more about teams defenses that have owned Payton offenses with a QB that has a arm problem. You can have all the methodical drives for 3 pts in the world. But if your opponent throws 7 points every 3rd drive we’re on the short end.
I’m not bashing Drew nobody is .

Or until the next "WHY IT WAS BREES FAULT" thread!!

I am not going to fully blame Brees, but in several playoff games the offense would go completely to sleep for extended periods of time. This seemed to only be an issue in road games, but recently this has occurred in home games too. Looking back at the past 4 years, if the Saints offense doesn't go off to sleep for these extended times, they likely would have put teams away and avoid heartbreaking endings. The past 4 years should have at least generated 2 if not 3 or 4 Super Bowl appearances.

I'm happy that Drew looks to be retiring because I'm sick of reading these threads attacking Drew's arm strength. He gave us his all and then some. Yes, he was declining, but a declining Drew is still better than 80% of the QB's out there. The good thing is that if Drew retires then that will put this story line to bed.

I thought I came across as a caring Saints fan. This was not a personal attack....it's all I hear about anymore. It's just that I am highly protective of the people I love and/or admire. Peace out. :peace:

I understand the point that you tried to make. Maybe you didnt make the point that you intended.

Sean Payton is not mentioned anywhere in these statements.
"U want to talk regressing under Drew"
"How could we get to another Super Bowl is only one way move on from Brees"

I drew a conclusion only from the text that you provided.. no?

Brees is still our best option. See if he will sign for one year cheap. We are in cap hell.

It would take quite a few blessings to be elevated into “cap hell” lol

Dante's inferno with all it's circles is still appealing to where we are now in cap hell.

We're not near as bad off as the Rams and the Falcons, for example. I heard a couple of days ago that the Rams have $140 million in cap allotted in 2021 to just six players (plus dead money) on their current roster. The Falcons are even worse at $143 million for six roster players. Even with the good news on the larger than projected cap of $185 million or so, it only leaves $42 million for 47 more roster slots, up to 16 practice squad positions, including rookie contracts.

Negative. Even Alighieri had a Paradisio. The Saints will find their Beatrice.

I am not on the antiBrees bandwagon.
Look, Saints never got to the big ever before.
We true fans always thought 8-8, GREAT SEASON.
9-7 and a WildCard, WOW!!! Oh boy.
Never a SuperBowl, lol.
Well yes, N.O. :chug: In 1970s and 1980s was having a SB really about every 4 years.:p
Yeah, N.O. and Saints , their training facility , were hosts of many NFL Superbowls.
Long decades gone are N.O hosting so often because all other NFL cities have great stadiums and everything.

The past Saints 15 seasons have been very exciting.
The winning season and SP win was amazing.
Saints - Colts SB is definitely one of the top , est SBs.

I cannot fault SeanP, Brees , the team or even Mr. Mrs.Benson for that following year.
They handled the problem. Then, they took the punishment from Goodell and the NFL . That dismantled, literally broke up a solid team coming off a SB.
What could have been if the team was not literally broken apart that year?

Next, the Rams. 80,000 people in the Dome saw and the viewers at home saw. The Rams even saw. The 4 referees and NFL in NY did not see. Okkkkkkkk.
What could have been if the 4 referees saw and if the NFL in NY saw?

Ok, off my soapbox. .....cos ‘ I am getting 😠 upset all over again.

I though we sh&&t canned the the refs robbed us debacle? People u are still living in 2009 , let’s get on with the 8-8 seasons from here to eternity.
