After that Philadelphia game in 2018 was when the writing was on the wall for him. It was like a roller coaster that was at the top then the quick descend, then the injuries started. Still love and have the upmost respect for Drew but we gotta move on

I think that’s when he got an injury of some kind that has lingered or is easily aggravated. Our offensive line was pretty beat up too by the end of the last few seasons. He played well enough to win it all each of those years with the exception of Tampa. One of those years was straight up stolen from us. If the Minnesota Miracle had not happened we would have lost to Philly. Nobody was going to beat Philly that year. What happened in the Rams game is inexcusable.

Agree, think they would have blown Philly out the water. Same in 2011, get past the 49ers and no way they don't smash the Giants in the dome and that 2011 team had to much offense for the Pats to go toe to toe with

If only one player scored points. If only one teams points determined a win..

No one player get credit for the score and no one player gets blame for the lack of....

Some people are reaching really hard to make a point. Really hard.

But look, I’ll play long. Tom Brady scored 13 on the Rams to be a them in SB LIII, Drew’s scores beat Brady’s scores so we should have the LIII SB trophy.

Your missing the point, it’s more about teams defenses that have owned Payton offenses with a QB that has a arm problem. You can have all the methodical drives for 3 pts in the world. But if your opponent throws 7 points every 3rd drive we’re on the short end.
I’m not bashing Drew nobody is .

Re: Brees stats last 4 years in playoffs

I am not going to fully blame Brees, but in several playoff games the offense would go completely to sleep for extended periods of time. This seemed to only be an issue in road games, but recently this has occurred in home games too. Looking back at the past 4 years, if the Saints offense doesn't go off to sleep for these extended times, they likely would have put teams away and avoid heartbreaking endings. The past 4 years should have at least generated 2 if not 3 or 4 Super Bowl appearances.

I'm happy that Drew looks to be retiring because I'm sick of reading these threads attacking Drew's arm strength. He gave us his all and then some. Yes, he was declining, but a declining Drew is still better than 80% of the QB's out there. The good thing is that if Drew retires then that will put this story line to bed.
