The thing is, the way Drew has been getting injured would have injured any QB. Frankly I think he's been unlucky. Now the rotator cuff is a different issue and could be due to wear and tear. When Drew's hand went off Donald's helmet.... that breaks anyways thumb. The way he got hit in the 49ers would most likely result in broken ribs unless you are incredibly lucky. These aren't what I call age injuries. What happened to Peyton Manning was an age related injury. They are wear n tear type injuries, and these are not what are happening to Brees. If he comes back I just hope it's with a healthy rotator cuff. Arm strength does decrease with age, but it doesn't go from throwing it 40 -50 yards down the field to not being able to hit the cut off man 10 yards away. There was obviously some issue there.

I've recently injured my arm and rotator cuff. Trust me, I can't lift anything or do much with my right arm without pain. It messes up other muscles that try to compensate and your posture. So if he comes back, he has to get the injuries put away. Like we need to know whether he's hiding an extra leg or requires a heart transplant before the season instead of hearing about it from his wife in an Instagram post after we lose in the playoffs!

Re: Brees coming back?

Regarding Brees' shoulder, wear and tear, et cetera...

Don't be like most folks with short-term memory; remember, Brees came to us with a reconstructed shoulder via James Andrews MD...

The trama to the ligaments and tendons in the shoulder cuff required a radical revision of his shoulder retasking tendons and muscles...

THEN, Drew went through a Herculean Rehab Effort so that he could not only throw a ball, but at an NFL level...

For those of you who've not seen enough moons yet, when you get to your 40s and 50s, muscular stamina and recovery is an issue...

Whatever happens with Brees, we can not only appreciate his Career Passing Leader effort he gave us, but the strong leader he was for the team and has been in the community...

But you must keep his health and history and hours on the vintage quarterback...
