Hypothetical question for the roster.
Let’s assume for argument sake, that whoever the Saints draft with their first round pick comes in, makes an immediate impact, and becomes a contributing player for years to come. Ends up having a Colston type career. (I do NOT predict this happening of course).
With that idea in mind, what position do you want this Saints team to hit on in the draft? Obviously QB, would be nice and probably a wise pick. But myself, I would choose a LB that would harken back to the days of the Dome Patrol. If a Mills/Jackson/Swilling/Johnson type came in and wreaked havoc with Davis, I think the other positions would work themselves out. What do you think? |

D-Line without a doubt. Either DE or DT... doesn’t matter. If we could get an incredible talent to go with Jordan and Onyemata the rest of the D would be fine.

My head says a speedy LB to put alongside Davis and wreak havoc.
The contrarian in me says a dynamic WR that defenses have to fear to open things up for Kamara and Thomas and others. |

Re: Hypothetical question for the roster.
Interesting. I also wouldn’t mind a stud TE like Kielce or second WR to help the O.

Definitely could use a receiver and I think we target one in a later round. I think they have a lot of confidence in Trautman. Don’t see us taking one unless it’s a steal. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a FA signing. Cook has to go.

Re: Hypothetical question for the roster.
IMO if a stud QB is available then it's an easy answer. Other than that we know the defense is built around aging veterans, so that to me would be the priority in this years draft.

Re: Hypothetical question for the roster.
Good point about Trautman Dude. He could be a good player going forward. If the Saints were gonna trade away a few first round picks then Chase would be a good WR target I think.
