this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I didn't get to see the last preseason game with all the schizznit going on, but I always thought Kingsbury looked decent. I'd hoped we'd drop Bouman and go with Kliff second, A-Mac third, though I knew that wasn't going ...

Bouman just doesn't do it for me. I obviously hope I'm wrong. |

Yeah... its good to be relaxed in the pocket but he is like taking a nap back there thinking he's got all day... hello you play in New Orleans... lol. Kingsbury to me in the long run is a better choice, I venture to say the only thing Bouman had on him is experiance but i'd challenge that and say Kingsbury has the youth. Amac was a lock at 3, even though bouman and king is better at QB so far... amac we all can agree needs development and then look out.

They shoulda dropped bouman, I would have rather kept kingsbury. Lets think about this though: But in 2 years when Plummer is is on the sideline calling games and skipping words along with Aikman and Van Pelt is seen for what he is, not starting material, and Kingsbury is starting for Denver I would rather have A-Mac behind center than Kingsbury. Its gonna be a show. Oh yeah and they will be close to finishing the new "Retractable Roof Superdome". We'll call it the BENSON BOWL

I wasn't surprised to see this either. I though Bouman looked pretty good in preseason though. I think you keep Bouman because he is a little more dependable. You keep A-Mac because he has the most potential of the 3 and you drop Klingsbury. He may be a solid #2 or #3 soon, but to say drop Bouman and keep 2 green QB's on the roster is crazy. I can understand why they took a chance on letting Klingsbury go.

Kliff ain't never gonna beat out Bradlee Van Pelt. I don't understand all the hype on this topic.
He's a 4th string QB. He likely won't even suit up for Denver this year. They rarely activate 2 QB's a game. |

RE: Re: RE: Kingsbury signed by Denver!!
It not hype he looked better mechanically, he had been developing in our system and more aware... than a napping fumbling int qb bouman simple no one saying King is the savior and should be a starter but as a our number 2 he deserved it over Bouman. King is a victum of having to carry amac until he gets a clue and a vet. I think they let the wrong one go... we find ourselves. Someone saw fit to get him signed, now to wait and see. I don't think anyone had or has expectations that he is a starter or will be one day... being a back up is fine, hey he gets a check. Hell Amack would more than likely end up a starter over King but as the number 2 guy right now it should have been king.

The Saints have let some other good QB's get away. We all remember Jake but let us not forget M. Bulger in St. Louis. He has been one of the better QB's in the NFL and we got rid of him too. I hope A Mac proves to be as good as I think he will be.
