Malcom Brown

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Don’t like the thought of losing him. There was a noticeable drop in run defense when he went down. I think he is more important to our D than most people think. They couldn’t find a trade partner so what ...

Malcom Brown

Don’t like the thought of losing him. There was a noticeable drop in run defense when he went down. I think he is more important to our D than most people think. They couldn’t find a trade partner so what do you think the chances are we get him back on a restructured deal? Hill didn’t stay out of a job long and I don’t think Brown will be either. A division rival will be familiar with him enough to know what they are getting.

Re: Malcom Brown

Not a single GM was going to trade for our players knowing we had no choice but to cut them lol.

More to your point though, yeah it massively sucks losing Brown. We have a need on every level of the defense now.

I find that silly with GMs
If I'm a team lo thinking Malcolm Brown is just what I need to help with my DLine and his salary is good. Am I hell going to let him hit the open market. I'm going to offer the Saints a 6th round pick and not have to risk not getting him. Anhthing past the 4th round is a stab in the dark really anyway

There you go. Likely no GM was out there thinking Brown and his contract was worth picking him up, especially for a pick. Don't forget, because of this environment they are cutting the same type of players from their roster. Forget the past. This year is amazingly unique. Expect the totally unexpected.

We’re talking 2-down run stoppers here. I like my chances of finding one late in the draft.

If so I'll wait and see like I do with the professionals and then hope for the best. But, fortunately, they are doing it for real. But, y'all have fun pretending!

We might find one late in the draft but we have one sixth round draft pick at the back end of the draft. How long will it take to develop that rookie to Brown's level now? Personally, I believe Sean goes O-line before D-line because that's his MO. We gotta' protect that new QB.
