Mom grew up, they were neighbors with the Favre's (his Daddy); my cousin played baseball with him Diamondhead-Kiln... Wasn't allowed to play Dizzy Dean with them because I'd played in LA earlier that season (MS played during the Summer, we played in Spring)... My Uncle Kris was a hell of a baseball coach; knowing what I know now, I'd sat out in LA, played in MS during summer when I stayed with my Grandma and stuck out baseball... In '82 watching Chariots of Fire, asked Mom & Uncle if running the water line really worked you out - what! Best shape of my life running from 8 Flags to Courthouse Rd... God I loved the gulf coast then - miss those summers on the gulf coast, when times were simpler everyone respected one another... Gotta tell this - when my Grandmother passed, we had a helluva convoy to bury her back in Gulfport-Pass Christian - I mean to tell you this - Everyone, mean everyone, rich-poor, black-white, everyone, stopped, pulled over (DOTD crew stopped, removed hard hats)... MS has some real F'ups, but those people respect, mourn right... And look, Buried my one of my best friends Wed (got 2nd shot, dead 72 hrs later); when we drove from church to mausoleum, light changed, people blew threw the caravan... Sad. |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
