Before the Panther's take the field this evening, we'll be ready to exchange your cash for Mardi Gras beads. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief effort.

If you miss us at the Panther's Lair, News Talk 1110 WBT's "BEADS FOR THE BAYOU" will make a stop at the Matthew's Alive Festival. For the entire Labor day weekend, (Friday, September 2nd - Monday, September 5th) you can exchange your cash for Bayou Beads at the Matthew's Alive Festival--just by making a donation.

Carolina has some classy fans -- they have a forum (The Panther Huddle) who has frozen the beads for the bayou program at the top of the forum. In addition they have shown amazing support for New Orleanians everywhere.

I've been to games in their stadium, and I have to agree - they have classy fans.

It seems like there's this bond with Panters' and Saints' fans. As much as we are rivals, it seems fans of both teams tend to like the other team and its fans. It may be that Carolina has had a history of former Saints' players and now has Jake Delhomme, but I can't explain why so many fans from Carolina are so friendly to Saints' fans. We hate Atlanta and Tampa Bay, but Carolina is cool with us.
