Not true. A person can be arrested and booked for suspicion of committing a crime without being charged. There is a period of time in which the prosecutor's office must file a charge or the person must be released. That may vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

You have your 72’s but once you are booked the affidavit is submitted for booking. So the judge signs and the da decides whether or not to prosecute. Needless to say he is charged and the judge has signed the affidavit.

You can only be held for 48 hours until formally charged. So we’ll find out something relatively soon.

Hard to believe he would steal something making the kind of money he is, but unfortunately it means he is hanging around with the wrong type of people.
