With the NFL draft set to begin in three weeks, we are inching closer to knowing who will make up the next generation of New Orleans Saints players.

The Saints are armed with eight picks in the 2021 draft and are currently slated to pick at the back end of the first round, at No. 28. Who will be there when the Saints’ turn comes around? We won’t know that until April 29, but we can try to make a guess until that day comes.

We ran through a number of simulated drafts using The Draft Network’s mock draft machine to come up with a pool of players who could potentially be available when the Saints make their selection, and then we asked members of our Saints coverage team to play General Manager for an afternoon.

Pick #28 -- Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

Caleb Farley @ 28 ? One of the best CB's in this years draft class.

Those medicals though ...

I'm almost certain there are teams that have taken this kid off their board entirely due to those back surgeries.

My back hurts everyday...I’m avoiding surgery at all costs. I’m weary of anybody that had a back surgery.

Really bad Jairus Byrd flashbacks just now. We make him the highest paid safety in the league and he promptly has back surgery. We all know how it went after that.

I swear by chiropractic. After 40 years of playing rugby I'm always hurting and that's my best relief. Maybe you should give it a try. My moms best friend and mine are both chiropractors and I've been getting adjustments since I was young.

I think it’s different per patient Rugs. I know people that have good luck with chiropractors. But my brother says his back surgery greatly improved his situation.

Avoiding both. I'm dealing with my cervical stenosis and facet joint arthritis through epidural steroid injections (ESI's) and radio frequency ablation (RF's).

Vodka helps, but is not prescribed.

Friendly advice to all regarding back trouble - let a NeuroSurgeon, not a Neurologist, Not A Back Orthopedist, but a NeuroSurgeon run point on mending a back...

Of all the things I learned as a Transplant Coordinator in my previous life, that was among the best advice I'd received in that time...

While I've no faith in those that have advised Sean in the past ten years from Ochsner, I'd get those guys in Houston to look at Farley's medicals...

If they check out and give confident advice that includes not only prognosis, but timeline and offer to assist and are in the positive - take advantage, make the pick...

Get the reservations (I really do), but if he can recover in time to stay in the development arc, it'll be a steal...

Time line is a interesting point.
If the doctors tell you yes he will be fit and recover but we don't know if he will have a long career, say 6 years do you draft him. Personally I would, let him play out his rookie deal and see what you have. If the back is starting up again then let him walk.
