Update on Where Home Is
Sporting News Radio is reporting this morning that the Saints organization is close to signing a deal to play at least 4 of it's home games in the Alamo Dome. So, at best, because of the home game at the Meadowlands, the Saints would play only 3 games in Louisiana.
We have to go full force on the petition. |

here is a link to the yahoo story that is similar to this, they have the games listed to what deals, i'm pretty sure the tampa and atlanta games would be played in the alamo dome, and the carolina game in Louisiana. |

RE: Update on Where Home Is
here is another interesting point of view from profootballtalk.com
POSTED 8:25 a.m. EDT, September 9, 2005 SAN ANTONIO TO SNAG FOUR SAINTS GAMES? The San Antonio Express-News reports that San Antonio and the New Orleans Saints are close to a deal that would bring four games to the Alamodome. The Saints' other three games would be played in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at LSU's Tiger Stadium. The team's initial "home" game will be played in New Jersey, against the New York Giants. NFL spokesman Joe Browne says that he's not aware of any agreement being reached. The Express-News says that an announcement could come as soon as Friday, if/when NFL approval is obtained. We've got a feeling that approval won't be given, primarily because the NFL doesn't want owner Tom Benson to think that he can cut his own deals without direct league involvement. Benson has been behaving erratically behind the scenes over the past week, and there's a sense that he's hell-bent on playing as many games as possible in San Antonio this year and beyond, despite the content of any official statements released by the team. The four games likely to be played in San Antonio are October 2 against Buffalo, October 16 against Atlanta, December 4 against Tampa Bay, and December 24 against Detroit. The three games to be played in Baton Rouge would be October 30 against the Dolphins, November 6 against Chicago, and December 18 against Carolina. |
