The Official Kevin Hagan B&G Mock Draft

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; LB Zaven Collins falling out of the first round was a surprise. It could happen though, he’s a difficult scheme projection....

I only know that people are high on him from what I've read. Please tell me why he is a difficult scheme projection. I'd like to know more about projecting talent. What are the relevant factors?

He’s an off-ball LB at 6’4”, 270lbs. He played OLB in the unconventional 3-3-5 defense at Tulsa. Some say his best fit in the pro’s is as a 3-4 OLB. I could see us maybe plugging him in at Mike LB. He compares favorably to a guy like Dont’a Hightower who plays inside/outside in a multiple scheme.

Bold projection: There will be at least 2 borderline Hall-of-Fame runningbacks from this draft taken in 2nd round and beyond. Chuba Hubbard, Etienne, Trey Sermon, Michael Carter, etc. - lots of guys with serious ceiling.

Chris, never did say Thank You for honoring our late friend in this way...

Can assure you he'd be totally embarrassed by all this; then he'd msg me a lil emoji that have a wink or fist bump of how good it felt...

Thanks for the kind words JP. You made me smile. We all loved Kevin. I didn’t know him well... I was a young pup on the board back when he was with us but I soaked up so much information from both you and Kevin. I’m so grateful to you guys for inadvertently teaching me the finer points of trying to scout college players. Hopefully I’ll do his fantasy justice next season!
