Re: Aaron Rodgers ... Should we ?
I recently read that Rodgers voiced displeasure with the Pack front office releasing former (very brief stint here) Saints WR Jake Kumerow.

Re: Aaron Rodgers ... Should we ?
Personally, I wouldn't, and it has a whole lot less to do with how good he is than it does with him being in his 16th year in his career.
We would give everything and then be right back here in 4-5 years. As a fan base and a team do we want to deal with another 4 years of "what does our QB have left in the tank"? I find it quite tedious and exhausting not to mention divides the fans. |

Re: Aaron Rodgers ... Should we ?
from which money tree will he get paid? Don't get me wrong, I'd take him in a corn dog second, just won't, can't happen. But I'm no expert, just can't see it being feasible.

Re: Aaron Rodgers ... Should we ?
No we shouldn't
He would be crying even moore than he is in a year after we gut the roster to pay him the 35ml a year he wants. The team is already heading into next years with Williams,Armstead,Lattimore,Ramcyzk,Winston,Hill hitting free agency as as its stands 3.6ml in cap space(yes this will go up with what ever rise happens). I think its currently 35 players under contract for next season. Need to pay our own players first and then look at others especially 35ml a year aging QBs. You would be taking the massive risk of heavily backloading a contract on a player that could decide to retire or whos arm could quickly deteriorate like Brees did |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: Aaron Rodgers ... Should we ?
Of course they do and that's why we couldn't do it. There are not enough contracts remaining to rework to get what we already have and need (a few vets) as a minimum to fill the roster without trying to fit a Rodgers' base plus any sort of prorated portion into the 2021 limit. We still have the $11 million post-June 1st hit on Brees' contract to make room for, as well.
We currently have $833,487 in available cap on the top 51 players. We are over $13 million OVER the cap on the 79 players currently on the roster. |
